Gillian McKeith

“SOS Children is a charity very close to home. As someone who speaks from the heart, and as a mother to two wee daughters, I admire the Charity’s strategic goals that they have set themselves on issues affecting children and young people.

There are lots of ways that you can get involved and support this great Charity, and in turn help disadvantaged young people who need help the most. Please follow the link below and give your support.”

At SOS Children, we believe all children should belong to a family which is why we look after children who have lost their parents through war, famine, disease or poverty.

For more than fifty years, SOS Children has developed an approach based on building a community for children who have nobody to turn to.

Traditionally, we provide children with a home, a family and a new mother in a purpose-built local Village, where they can stay until they are ready for independent life. We currently run 473 of these unique SOS Children's Villages, and 342 Youth Homes, caring directly for more than 70,000 children in 123 countries worldwide.

Help A London Child

Help A London Child

Help a London Child provides financial support to grass-root projects working with London's less advantaged children and young people.

Help a London Child is a grant giving charity, which means twice a year the charity provides practical and lasting support to thousands of youngsters aged 18 and under. Help a London Child grants aim to directly assist and give opportunities to the Capital's children and young people who:

  • Experience poverty and disadvantage
  • Have/are experiencing abuse, neglect, homelessness, violence or crime
  • Have an illness or disability.

Throughout the year Help a London Child is involved in fundraising events including black-tie galas, sponsored treks and runs. The charity also relies on the generosity and imagination of the general public to donate money.
